How I made my computer 60% faster
Have you noticed that after a new computer isn't new anymore, the computer
tends to slow down? This slowdown can be caused by a number of conditions.
Back in 2004, I found a computer program that offered a 30 day free
evaluation and promised to make any PC much faster. Anytime any of us install
new software, we do so at our own risk. Knowing this, I downloaded and used the
free 30-day trial software on a laptop that was about a year old, and the
computer started working 60% faster!
Even after the 30 day trial was over, the computer kept its new speed because
the computer is in more of a "like new" condition. Of course, over time, the
computer slowed down without the program, so that is why I purchased the
inexpensive utility, and love it.
Even if you don't plan to purchase, why not invest a little time that could
make your computer a lot faster by using the 30 day download? Then if you like
the software, you can purchase it like I did.
Two important points before you use this software:
First of all, have a great backup (which you do anyway, right?) Two of my
favorite backup programs are "image backup" tools called GHOST from http://www.symantec.com and
True Image from http://www.acronis.com/. Make sure the backup is working and
that you can effectively restore from your backup.
Second, I suggest you NEVER use the "Registry Defrag" option in this
performance tuning software. I used it one time, and apparently I didn't prepare
my computer appropriately first, and my registry was destroyed and I used the
aforementioned backup programs to restore my hard drive.
Get started making your computer faster now:
Utilities, and if you want to try the 30 day free trial, just click "back" at the bottom of the
page.
In case you want a shortcut to get started right away, here is how I use the
program:
(Keeping in mind you made a backup first as described above
and have tested the restore to be sure you have a good backup)
From the main menu, you can choose "Clean up & Repair" and I find it
useful to use both the Disk Cleaner and Registry Cleaner tools.
When you choose "Optimize & Improve," the only tool I use in that section
is the System Optimizer. This tool offers many useful functions including:
- Scheduling automatic maintenance
- Internet Optimization
- System Optimization
- System Advisor
The above areas are the main ones I use to speed up my computer, and there
are other useful tools such as the System Control and Startup Manager both under
"Customize and Analyze" from the main menu.
And it is important to note that adding RAM will increase the speed of your
computer if your computer is using a large amount of your paging file,
defragmenting your drives is important, and the Tune-Up system advisor will
actually remind you of these and other issues.
My wish for you is that this tool helps you get your computer running faster,
maybe even faster than when your computer was brand new!
