Wireless Internet Everywhere

CEO's be aware: Wireless Networking will be everywhere soon! This will affect your organization. More and more locations are installing "wireless hot spots" that allow laptops with WiFi support to have 100% high-speed connection to the Internet and e-mail for low monthly fees.

Many coastal cities are supplying free wireless access in their harbors to attract people who would like sit in their yachts and connect to the Internet wirelessly. Many coffee shops, book stores, hotels, and other facilities are providing wireless access. McDonalds has even announced that it will be installing wireless access in its restaurants.

I was in Australia last month and was told by a reputable Australian Technology Expert that Sydney, Melbourne, and Canberra will all have "city-wide" WiFi access soon. If I was a DSL or cable broadband providor in those cities, I'd be concerned.

When Bill Gates (and the other partners) get the http://www.teledesic.com system operating, the entire world will be covered with high speed Internet access. Do you grasp what that means? Yes, you can be standing in the desert in the Middle East and surf the Internet.
