Warn Your Workers about Attacker Decoy Tactics
Alert your workers to be on guard looking for fake, decoy websites about coronavirus, even closings, and related alerts. Attackers design the content to be frightening or otherwise enticing so users click without thinking. Warn them that there are hundreds of new websites that hackers created to lure unsuspecting victims. Decoy websites look legitimate but are loaded with malicious content. Attackers can access one unsuspecting user’s computer session and then use it to gain full access to your organization’s network. Official websites include cdc.gov, nih.gov and who.int. It is better for users to manually type those addresses into their browser instead of clicking links.
